- Multiple Assailants
Self-defense Training takes place in small class sizes to ensure
personalized training with a low student to teacher ration.
Basic
Women’s Self-Defense Course
Total course time is two days for the basics course taught during
one weekend.
- Day One covers the Five Principles of women’s
self-defense/empowerment to include crime prevention and awareness
strategies taking into account the behavioral patterns of criminals,
situational recognition, personal behavioral assessment, resource
identification, and methods to identify vulnerability, countermeasures
available, and more. The goal is student psychological preparation
to reduce inhibitions that will lead to improving the fighting
spirit. The foundation of physical skills is established in preparation
for day two.
Day
Two covers defense against single unarmed assailant
from positions derived from research. We review predator typologies
and apply this knowledge to fighting strategies and tactics to
include vocalization, assertiveness, boundary setting, negotiation,
identifying then using weaknesses and strengths, option selection
and application, self-evaluation, realistic physical skill development.
Only by touching all the senses will education and training result
in lasting attitude changes. Empowerment is achieved in a variety
of aspects by the end of the day.
Women's Self-Defense Against
Armed Assailants
Women are usually the targets of unarmed assailants. Acquaintance
rapists occasionally use weapons, but the majority of rapists using
weapons are strangers. Abusive partners occasionally use weapons
to intimidate and in times of extreme emotional turmoil will use
a weapon.
Just
because an assailant has a weapon does not limit your options, although
your options may change, but timing a physical response becomes more
critical. Women's Self-defense against armed assailants modifies
many of the same strategies and movements learned in the Basic Model
Mugging Self-defense Course.
Women's Self-Defense Against
Multiple Assailants
It is likely most members of group assailants would not have the
courage to carry out such acts by themselves and would only commit
criminally sexual behavior under the anonymity of the group.
They
attack victims as a means for group interaction and competition;
victims are simply their prizes of entertainment. If attacked by
a multiple assailants, remember that compliance will only get you
raped. Fighting for your freedom often emerges as your best option.
